Regional and National Suzuki Organizations
Sycamore Strings Academy teachers are all members of the following two organizations: SANC (Suzuki Association of Northern California) and SAA (Suzuki Association of the Americas). They offer many types of support and opportunities for Suzuki studies. Teacher and family memberships are available to both.
SAA (Suzuki Association of the Americas) is a large support organization for the promotion of the Suzuki Method, which oversees accredited Institutes throughout the Americas. SAA publishes a quarterly journal, American Suzuki Journal, full of great articles and inspirations. It is well worth the $28.00 subscription price which also gives you access to an AV library, educational/resource materials, mentoring/volunteering resources, teacher location service, networking and international connections. To become a family member, please contact SAA, P.O. Box 17310, Boulder, CO 80308, or visit the Suzuki Association website.
SANC (Suzuki Association of Northern California) offers playing and educational opportunities throughout the year. These include: Annual Graduation, which requires taping in November and a group performance in January, East Bay Suzuki Play-in in March, the Stanford Institute in August and a Suzuki weekend at Camp Campbell in September. They publish a quarterly newsletter, The SANC Gazette, which reports on Suzuki programs and events in Northern California, including the greater Bay Area. Annual dues of $12.00 entitle you to discounts on SANC events, access to scholarship funds for workshop participation, and subscription to the newsletter. We strongly encourage all our student families to become members. Please, provide a check to Sycamore Strings Academy, marked SANC membership, for $12.00.
