For the first time, SSA performed in the brand new Bankhead Theater on 2400 1st Street in Livermore last December! Livermore is very lucky to have an elegant professional stage and beautiful auditorium for all the community groups which now are lining up to be there! SSA is one of them! Congratulations to Livermore for this long sought for accommodation! Thank you LVPAC (Livermore Valley Performing Arts Center)! We at SSA are very happy to be able to offer our students a real stage for their growth as performers.

At the Young Musicians' Festival in December, an almost sold out house enjoyed around 110 performing students, not only from Sycamore Strings Academy but also young students from the new Suzuki program at the Crowden Music Center(CMC) in Berkeley, and students from Ying Quan's Violin Studio in San Ramon.

There were 70 Suzuki violin, viola, and cello students participating from SSA, CMC, and Ying Quan's studio, 30 guitar students from the "Guitar with Christina" classes at SSA, and 10 Kindemusik children from SSA's & LARPD's classes.

SSA's new Suzuki cello teacher, Marcie Brown, just recently hired, performed some cello numbers with her 5 year old daughter Isabelle. The orchestra and chamber ensemble played music by Bach, Haydn, Albinoni, and a suite by Goran Berg. Violin soloist Rachel Kong from SSA performed the famous Six Rumanian Folk Dances by Bela Bartok. Pianist was Kathryn Walda.
